Subaru has unveiled its second-ever electric SUV model at the 2025 New York International Auto Show — the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker. This all-new midsize SUV is larger than the Subaru Solterra.
The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker has a 74.7-kWh battery pack. The Japanese manufacturer expects the vehicle to have more than 260 miles of range on a single charge.
An important feature is the Trailseeker’s standard NACS (SAE J3400) charging port. Subaru also said that the Trailseeker’s charging power will peak at about 150 kW. We don’t know yet the charging time, but it might be less than 35 minutes from 10 to 80% state-of-charge, just like in the case of the upcoming 2026 Subaru Solterra (more on that in a separate post).
The manufacturer pointed out that the car will be ready for DC fast charging in warm or cold temperatures thanks to the onboard battery preconditioning system.

The Subaru Trailseeker will come standard with a Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive powertrain (about 280 kW peak) and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds, it might be quite capable on the trail.
Inside, we can find a 14-inch touchscreen, the largest ever in a Subaru, the company explains.
The nationwide market launch of the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker in the United States is scheduled for 2026.
