The all-new 2026 Subaru Uncharted is the third all-electric model in the Subaru lineup. It’s a small, sporty CUV (a direct cousin of the 2026 Toyota C-HR) that will enter the US market in early 2026.
Now we know its pricing. With an MSRP starting at $34,995, the Subaru Uncharted is $5,000 less than the Subaru Trailseeker ($39,995) and $3,500 less than the 2026 Subaru Solterra ($38,495). That’s not a bad offer for a NACS-compatible EV with over 300 miles of estimated range.
Range: 270-300 Miles
The entry-level version of the Subaru Uncharted is promised to offer more than 300 miles of range, using the same 74.7-kWh battery pack found in the new Subaru Solterra and Subaru Trailseeker. That would be the highest range for any electric Subaru so far.
The maximum range of 300+ miles applies to the base single-motor (165 kW), front-wheel-drive version. The dual-motor (252 kW), all-wheel-drive version is expected to deliver more than 285 miles of range. The top-of-the-line GT trim (AWD with larger, 20-inch wheels instead of the standard 18-inch wheels) will offer a lower range of more than 270 miles, according to the Japanese manufacturer.
The Subaru Uncharted will be quite quick with a 0-60 MPH time under five seconds.
Charging: 10-80% SOC in 28 Minutes
The Subaru Uncharted, just like all new 2026 Subaru EVs, is equipped with a NACS (SAE J3400) charging port for AC and DC charging scenarios. However, the location of the charging inlet on the right front fender (passenger’s side) is questionable, as it might be inconvenient in tight garages.
According to Subaru, DC fast charging from 10% to 80% state of charge (SOC) will take 28 minutes, which we feel is “okay”. The initial press materials from July indicated a charging time of “approximately 30 minutes”. The peak power level is 150 kW. We estimate that the average power in the 10-80% SOC window should be closer to 110 kW.
Assuming a range of 300 miles, the vehicle can replenish 210 miles in 28 minutes at an average rate of 7.5 miles/minute during DC fast charging.
Subaru EVs gained access to the Tesla Supercharging network in October. The Subaru Uncharted will be able to directly use the majority of Tesla Superchargers in North America (over 25,000 stalls available to Tesla’s NACS partners), as well as other NACS chargers. Access to CCS1 chargers (and SAE J1772 AC charging points) will require an adapter — CCS1-to-NACS and J1772-to-NACS (AC), respectively.
The onboard charger is rated at 11 kW, which should easily allow it to fully recharge overnight (in about seven hours).
All trims will include a basic power export feature in the form of a 120-volt AC power outlet (up to 1,500 W).
Prices
The 2026 Subaru Uncharted starts at an MSRP of $34,995 plus a $1,450 mandatory destination charge ($1,600 in some states), bringing the effective minimum cost to $36,445.
2026 Subaru Uncharted MSRP:
- Premium FWD: $34,995
- Sport AWD: $39,795
- GT AWD: $43,795
The offer appears interesting, and it’s great to see that the segment of smaller cars is getting another contender, as in recent years we’ve seen mostly electric SUVs.
