The Waffle House diner chain has become the latest strategic partner of the BP Pulse fast-charging network in the US. The two companies plan to install EV chargers at Waffle House properties across the Southeast and Sunbelt regions.

The first DC fast-charging stations are expected to go live in 2026. Each site will feature six charging stalls with a peak power output of 400 kW. BP Pulse intends to use a mix of CCS1 and NACS (SAE J3400) charging connectors.

BP Pulse does not say how many Waffle House restaurants will be equipped with chargers. Today, Waffle House operates more than 2,000 restaurants in 25 states, and they are open 24/7. The partnership with BP Pulse includes Texas, Georgia, Florida, and other locations in the South and Southeast.

Step by step, BP Pulse adds new partners to expand its charging network in the US. The list already includes Hertz, LAZ Parking, and Simon Property Group. The company also installs chargers at BP’s sites, including TravelCenters of America, Thorntons, and Amoco.

Globally, BP Pulse has more than 40,000 charging points (AC and DC) and plans to have 100,000 stalls by 2030. The BP Pulse network in the US is currently relatively small, with a few hundred DC charging stalls (see the map here). Most recently, the company opened its first EV charging Gigahub in Massachusetts.
