Walmart, which began building its own DC fast-charging network this year, will close out 2025 with approximately 16 locations. Soon, this number might triple.

The company recently listed 31 locations on its website as “Coming Soon”, which means that in a few months (potentially in early 2026), the total number of charging stations might reach 50.

Currently, EV charging at Walmart is available at sites in several states: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and Florida. Texas is the company’s primary expansion market with about 10 locations live.

The upcoming 31 locations, listed by Walmart, include 10 in Arizona, 11 in Texas, two in Oklahoma, one in Georgia, two in Utah, and five in Arkansas. This indicates a gradual geographic expansion.

According to Landon (@TheArkeTraveler / X), when counting Walmart’s other stations under construction or found in permit filings, there are 219 known planned locations. This number increases almost daily as new filings are discovered.

A detailed video report from December 23, 2025, says that Walmart plans to use ABB A400 chargers at a similar number of sites as the Alpitronic HYC400 chargers. The first ABB unit was installed in November. Both types offer a peak power of 400 kW. It’s worth noting that Walmart, just like Ionna, installs both charging connector types: CCS1 and NACS (SAE J3400) for maximum compatibility.

Ultimately, DC fast-charging at Walmart can be expected to explode, with the company able to install thousands of DC fast-charging stations. The company operates more than 4,600 stores in the US, plus an additional 600 Sam’s Clubs. Here is a map showing Walmart’s current store locations:
