EVgo Network Throughput Hits New Record: Q3 2025 Report

The number of operational stalls increased to 4,590, while the number of customer accounts exceeded 1.6 million.

EVgo, one of the largest DC fast-charging networks in the United States, has achieved another record quarter. In Q3 2025, its total revenues increased to over $92 million (up 37% year-over-year), including $55.8 million in the charging network category (up 33% year-over-year).

During this period, the company installed several hundred additional chargers, which noticeably increased the overall EVgo network throughput and number of customers.

4,590 Stalls (Up 25%)

EVgo closed the third quarter of 2025 with 4,590 DC fast-charging stalls in operation (up 25% year-over-year). The number includes 3,570 publicly available stalls, as well as 140 dedicated to fleet customers and 880 EVgo eXtend stalls at third-party businesses (like Pilot stations).

The total number of operational stalls increased by about 240 during the quarter (the net increase), although EVgo deployed more than 280 new DC fast-charging stalls. The difference of about 40 units must be legacy stalls, removed as part of its ongoing EVgo ReNew efforts.

The current number of stations has not been revealed, but it exceeds 1,100 across 47 states.

The share of stations with at least six stalls increased from 18% a year ago to 26% (it was 24% in Q2 2025). The share of stalls with a 350-kW charger increased to 59% (from 45% in Q3 2024 and 57% in Q2 2025).

95 GWh in Q3 2025 (up 25%)

EVgo network throughput (excluding EVgo eXtend sites) reached a new record of 95 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in Q3 2025 — 25% more than a year ago.

EVgo reports that the network’s average daily throughput per stall increased by 16% year-over-year in Q3 2025, from 254 kWh to 295 kWh (excluding EVgo eXtend sites). The network’s 3- to 5-year target is 450-500 kWh.

The average utilization rate of the network (excluding EVgo dedicated and eXtend sites) slightly decreased, but remains relatively stable around 20%. EVgo’s goal is to reach 23-26% by 2029.

1.6+ Million Customer Accounts

The EVgo network reported another six-digit increase in customer accounts in Q3 2025, reaching 1.659 million. That’s 34% more than a year ago. EVgo reports 149,000 new customer accounts, although the net increase (the difference between Q3 and Q2) is closer to 120,000.

The average amount of energy dispensed per customer account remains stable at over 57 kWh per quarter. That’s equivalent to one, maybe two charging sessions.

EVgo‘s “One and Done” success rate — a rate defined as the ability to successfully initiate a charging session on the first attempt — improved to 96% (it was at 95% for a few previous quarters). This means that one in 25 attempts requires at least one additional try to initiate a charging session.

“”One and Done” success rates measure a driver’s ability to successfully initiate a charging session on the first attempt and includes EVgo eXtend sites. Metric excludes declined credit card authorizations.”

About 28% of charging sessions were completed automatically with the Autocharge+ feature (on par with Q2 2025; a year ago, it was 21%).

NACS Deployment

The majority of EVgo chargers are equipped with CCS1 connectors, but the company is in the process of installing NACS (SAE J3400) charging connectors. We recently reported that some 35 sites already have NACS plugs.

According to EVgo, nearly 100 NACS stalls were deployed as of October 2025.

What’s Next?

After 15 years in business, EVgo is in a phase of accelerating expansion of its DC fast-charging infrastructure. The Q3 2025 report indicates that the company wants to install 1,250-1,325 stalls in 2025 (the net increase might be noticeably lower). This number includes 700-750 new public and dedicated stalls and 550-575 EVgo eXtend stalls.

Badar Khan, EVgo’s CEO, said:

“EVgo delivered another quarter of record charging network revenue, underscoring the strength of our business model and growing consumer demand for fast charging. Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, we expect to bring a substantial number of new charging stations online across the U.S., expanding charging options and convenience for EV drivers nationwide. We anticipate an inflection point toward positive Adjusted EBITDA supported by a fully financed growth plan. With operating leverage, we expect accelerated profitability growth and sustained value creation.”

In August 2025, EVgo announced a plan to expand its network to 13,800-14,400 operational public network stalls.

EVgo’s next-generation charger, currently under development in collaboration with Delta Electronics, is scheduled for market launch in late 2026. The new distributed charging system is expected to offer dynamic power sharing between up to six stalls and a peak power output of 400 kW per stall. EVgo believes that this solution will significantly reduce the investment costs per stall.
