Grizzl-E Club Canada Reaches 1,000 Members, Drops Membership Fees

The total member rewards approach $30,000 CAD.

The Grizzl-E Club, established in Canada by United Chargers, has just reached a major milestone of 1,000 club members. The club website indicates that there are already 1,017 club members, while the total member rewards exceeded $27,700 in just a few months of the program.

The initiative was announced in the summer of 2025 with a bold plan to offer free residential charging stations and energy cashback. As we described in September, when State Of Charge interviewed Gleb Nikiforov, CEO of United Chargers, the idea relies on existing incentives and the Canadian Clean Fuel Regulations Credit Market Function. The club basically generates compliance credits (including, but not limited to, Low-Carbon Fuel Standard credits and Clean Fuel Regulation credits) through the operation of the chargers, which can be sold to other businesses that need to offset deficits (specifically fuel-related businesses). The profits are then passed down to the club members.

As long as the regulations are in place, club members can operate free home charging stations and even get energy cashback ($0.03 CAD/kWh).

Membership Fee Removed

The original membership terms included a membership fee of $10 CAD/month ($120 CAD/year, but the first year was $0). The membership fee could be offset by energy cashback (for usage above 4,000 kWh/year, it can even generate a surplus).

However, according to the most recent announcement from United Chargers, the Grizzl-E Club is dropping its membership fee, making the program significantly more attractive (especially for EVs with lower mileage) and easier to understand.

The company wrote: “Customers will no longer have to pay the $10 monthly fee to join the Club and receive cashback rewards for charging. This new offer is to incentivize even more people to join the Club.”

As we understand, the demand for credits has increased, which means higher revenues from operating a network of smart EV charging stations. This enabled the Grizzl-E Club to remove the membership fee entirely, starting this week.

What does this mean? Well, now, joining the Grizzl-E Club means that one can get a free home charging station for use, as long as one remains a club member. The only costs are a refundable deposit ($300 or $500, depending on the model) and shipping for the charger (the program is available nationwide in Canada). The installation of the residential charging station is at the member’s expense.

When using the club’s charging station, the club member receives $0.03 CAD/kWh in energy cashback, effectively earning free money compared to purchasing a charging station. Payouts will start on January 1, 2026 (minimum $10 CAD/month).

Meanwhile, the deposits can be refunded (after 4,000 or 10,000 kWh dispensed, depending on the model).

More Value Soon

United Chargers promises additional improvements on the horizon. According to State Of Charge’s information, we can expect the club to drop the security deposit (with a refund for existing members) in 2026.

It seems the club created by United Chargers could completely change how the residential charging station market operates in Canada.

What Chargers?

The Grizzl-E Club relies on a few charging station models:

  • Grizzl-E Ultimate 48A: $300 deposit refund after 5,000 kWh
  • Grizzl-E Ultimate 80A: $500 deposit refund after 10,000 kWh
  • Grizzl-E Mini 40A: $300 deposit refund after 4,000 kWh
  • Grizzl‑E Classic Connect 40A (all-new): $300 deposit refund after 4,000 kWh

Soon, the club will expand its lineup with the Grizzl‑E Duo model, and as we reported previously, one can join the club with its current smart Grizzl-E charging station.

The Grizzl-E chargers are among State Of Charge’s Best home EV charging stations of 2025. The Grizzl-E Ultimate 48A ($479.99) has been shortlisted among the best of the best, while the good old Grizzl-E Classic 40A ($349.99) received an honorable mention. For those seeking full power, State Of Charge recommends the Grizzl-E Ultimate 80A (up to 19.2 kW) offered at $899.99.
