Casey’s, the nation’s third-largest convenience store and fifth-largest pizza chain, has become Ionna’s latest partner, making its locations available for the expansion of the DC fast-charging network.
The first 400-kW Ionna chargers will become available at Casey’s location before the end of this year. According to Ionna, eight locations have already broken ground in six states and are planned to open within two months:
- Little Rock, Arkansas
- Vernon Hills, Illinois
- McHenry, Illinois
- Terre Haute, Indiana
- Parkville, Missouri
- Kearney, Missouri
- Blackwell, Oklahoma
- Waco, Texas
Teams from both companies are working together to scale the partnership and gradually deploy more Ionna Rechargeries at Casey’s locations.
Seth Cutler, the CEO of Ionna, said:
“This partnership with Casey’s is key to expanding our presence in America’s heartland — a region that embodies the spirit and tenor of IONNA’s brand. With a shared respect and commitment to delivering quality customer experience, we are pleased to add Casey’s to our growing network of partners.”
The leading image above presents a rendering of Ionna Rechargery at Casey’s, featuring a typical layout: five dual-head 400-kW Alpitronic HYC400 chargers under a canopy. Three of the chargers are equipped with CCS1 connectors (six stalls total), and two with NACS (SAE J3400) connectors (four stalls total).
Network Expansion
As we know from the recent State Of Charge visit to Ionna HQ in Durham, North Carolina, the network is quickly expanding. It already has more than 30 locations and more than 300 individual stalls.
The number of charging bays in construction or beyond more than doubled in three months to over 900. The number of contracted bays increased to over 3,600 — by 600 or 20% — from 3,000+ in July 2025.
It will be interesting to see how close Ionna will be to its 1,000-stall target by the end of 2025. Ionna’s long-term goal is to deploy more than 30,000 fast-charging stalls by 2030.
