Ionna’s DC Fast-Charging Network Is Officially Open

The first four Rechargeries went online on December 27, 2024, in public beta.

Ionna’s DC fast-charging network is officially open.  On Friday, December 27, 2024, Ionna — a new DC fast-charging network in the US — officially brought its first Rechargeries into public beta. It’s a major milestone for the new player, which has an ambition to become one of the largest public charging networks.

Four stations are initially available — one in North Carolina, two in Ohio, and one in Pennsylvania. Special introductory pricing, 400-kW chargers with NACS and CCS1 connectors, and available amenities all make the sites worth checking out. The first site in Apex, North Carolina, was shown in a soft opening event earlier this month.

First opened Ionna Rechargeries:

  • 400 N Salem Street, Apex, North Carolina
  • 4145 OH 306, Willoughby, Ohio
  • 1751 Titus Road, Springfield, Ohio
  • 610 Scranton Carbondale Highway, Scranton, Pennsylvania

According to reports from EV users on X, the Ionna Rechargeries have started to appear in automaker’s apps.

Six more stations are already listed as coming soon:

  • 2309 N Buckeye Ave, Abilene, KS
  • 6215 Washington Ave, Houston, TX
  • 4750 I-45, Corsicana, TX
  • 2727 Brice Rd, Reynoldsburg, OH
  • 745 S 1st St, WaKeeney, KS
  • 5447 NC-42, Garner, NC

Ionna intends to build more than 30,000 DC fast-charging ports in North America by 2030. Eight EV manufacturers have signed up for the task — BMW Group, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota — each of them an Ionna shareholder.
