Lucid Gravity Gets Major OTA Software Update That Solves Issues, Elevates Experience

With the new update, Lucid improved Gravity's weakest point.

Lucid has released a major over-the-air (OTA) software update for the Lucid Gravity model, which significantly improves the user experience and fixes its most annoying issues.

State Of Charge‘s Tom Moloughney had the opportunity to talk about the new v3.4 software update with Emad Dlala, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Digital at Lucid, who oversaw the upgrades.

The latest Lucid OTA update, v3.4, is comprehensive and covers multiple areas of the car, including access, comfort, driving intelligence, and the digital experience.

According to the first Lucid Gravity users who updated their software, v3.4 resolved multiple issues and made the infotainment much smoother. The feedback so far appears very positive, as the new software finally matches Lucid’s already outstanding hardware — including ultra-fast charging, more than 400 miles of range at 70 mph, and race-proven long-distance driving capabilities.

Key Fob Access

One of the weakest points of the Lucid Gravity was its initial issues with the key fob, as it did not always work properly. With v3.4, that’s no longer the case; the key fob works as expected.

Additionally, the new algorithm is more battery-friendly, extending the key fob’s battery life by an order of magnitude.

Your vehicle should respond naturally the moment you approach it. This release improves consistency and responsiveness across all entry and startup interactions.

  • More reliable key fob detection for quicker unlocking and smoother transitions into Drive
  • Improved battery life for the key fob, along with earlier and more informative low-battery alerts
  • More natural passive entry and exit behavior
  • Faster and more consistent tap-to-drive performance with the key card

Emad Dlala revealed that Lucid is developing a digital key, and later this year, users will have the option to use their phone as a key.

New Features

Lucid lists three new features in the v3.4 software update. The first is the See Through Vehicle, a visualization that enhances Surround View Monitoring by revealing the terrain directly around and beneath the front of the vehicle. However, it’s available only to EVs with DreamDrive 2 Premium or Pro.

The second new feature is the Immersion media setting, which, according to the manufacturer, enables “tailoring the soundstage to feel more focused or more expansive, adding greater depth to the Surreal Sound Pro experience.”

A smaller, but important new improvement is enhanced and simplified control over the second-row seats:

  • Single press provides easy access to the third row
  • Long press folds the second row flat
  • Double press when seats are folded will move the front seats to make more room for the second row

Lucid OTA Improvements

The list of improvements in Lucid’s v3.4 software update is long. One of the most important things is that the entire system is more responsive, consistent, and free of glitches or false-positive warnings.

We especially appreciate the upgraded navigation, including more accurate range estimation, updated charging details, and improved charging network filters.

Another important consideration is that the updated thermal management system should improve DC fast-charging performance in hot weather.

There are dozens of elements that together create an elevated experience. We will list the original list below:

Driving Intelligence, Further Refined

Version 3.4 enhances confidence and comfort across a range of driving situations.

  • Smoother engagement of Adaptive Cruise Control and Drive Assist from the steering wheel
  • Improved performance from parking sensors
  • Clearer Blind Spot, Rear View, and Surround View video
  • Better system logic for reducing sensor blockage alerts (Some features vary by region.)

A More Comfortable and Quieter Cabin

This release strengthens the consistency of your preferred climate, seating, and lighting settings each time you drive.

  • More efficient cabin warmup
  • Better windshield defogging
  • Reduced interior airflow noise
  • More accurate and efficient HVAC performance
  • Improved alignment of interior lighting zones

The result is a calmer, more composed environment as soon as you enter the vehicle.

Faster, More Responsive Infotainment

Your infotainment system now reacts more quickly and more reliably.

  • Faster screen wakeup
  • More consistent activation of camera views
  • Fewer media interruptions
  • Improved responsiveness of seat controls

We have also refined notification logic to present information more clearly and at the right moment

Smarter EV Routing and Navigation

Navigation updates make each route easier to understand and more accurate.

  • Cleaner and more consistent map visuals
  • Range estimation that now factors in preconditioning and auxiliary loads
  • More accurate vehicle orientation on the map
  • Smoother map rendering
  • Updated charging details and improved filters for North American networks
  • These improvements help make every trip easier to plan.

Connectivity Improvements

Connections should simply work. This update strengthens key communication features.

  • More stable Bluetooth performance
  • Clearer handsfree call audio
  • Enhanced mobile app functionality, now including access to wiper maintenance mode (App v2.12.0)

Charging and Energy Enhancements

Charging is now more predictable and resilient in a wider range of conditions.

  • Better hot weather thermal management
  • Improved AC charging stability
  • Stronger recovery after charger emergency shutdowns
  • More accurate HVAC energy reporting

These refinements help make both daily charging and road trip planning feel smoother.
