Starbucks Gets Its First Mercedes-Benz Chargers

More than 100 stations are to be installed at Starbucks alongside the West Coast.

The Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging network has launched its first DC fast-charging station at a Starbucks location. The site is located in Red Bluff, California (see map), alongside the I-5 corridor.

The Mercedes-Benz-branded chargers are rated at up to 400 kW of power and support all EVs with NACS (SAE J3400) and CCS1 charging ports.

“Plug in your EV for up to 400kW fast charging while you step inside for a moment to relax, recharge and enjoy the Starbucks coffee house experience.”

The station in Red Bluff is the first out of over 100 planned at Starbucks locations along the west coast travel corridor spanning from Canada to Mexico. The project was initially announced in July 2024, but it took more than a year to deploy the first site.

Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging

The Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging network opened its first site in the United States in mid-November 2023. After about a year, the number of stalls increased to over 100, and the network has now expanded to a few hundred stalls across roughly 50 locations (see the map here).

By 2030, the company aims to have at least 400 charging hubs with over 2,500 stalls across the continent. That’s part of a wider, global rollout of 2,000 stations with 10,000 stalls in North America, Europe, China, and Japan.
