Subaru has announced its third all-electric model, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted. It’s a small, sporty CUV and a direct cousin of the 2026 Toyota C-HR. It will enter the US market in early 2026, joining the updated 2026 Subaru Solterra and the all-new 2026 Subaru Trailseeker.
Over 300 Miles of Range
The 2026 Subaru Uncharted has a 74.7-kWh battery pack. There will be two powertrain versions — a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) and a single-motor front-wheel drive (FWD). According to Subaru, the driving range will exceed 300 miles in the FWD version and reach 290 miles in the AWD version.
With a peak system output of 252 kW, the AWD versions (Sport and GT trim levels) will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The FWD version (Premium FWD trim) has a 165-kW electric motor.
NACS Charging Inlet
Like other new models in the US, the Subaru Uncharted comes standard with a NACS (SAE J3400) charging port instead of the CCS1.
Subaru has revealed that DC fast charging from 10% to 80% state-of-charge (SOC) will be possible in approximately 30 minutes at a rate of up to 150 kW. The 30-minute time is promised even in cold-weather conditions.
The onboard charger is rated at 11 kW, which should allow it to fully recharge overnight easily.
Just like the other new Toyota and Subaru models, the charging port on the Subaru Uncharted is located on the front-right part (passenger side). We assume that this position has been selected for easier Supercharging, since thousands of V3 dispensers have short cables. We are unsure whether this will be convenient on a daily basis, especially in a tight garage where one parks close to the wall on the passenger side.
In Europe, the very same Subaru Uncharted has been presented with the charging port in the front-left part of the car:
The 2026 Subaru Uncharted is an interesting model, although its success will depend on pricing, which has not been announced yet.
Subaru said that the base Uncharted Premium FWD model will be offered in limited numbers. This indicates a focus on the AWD versions.
