EVgo and Subaru of America announced a commercial agreement to provide drivers of the all-new 2023 Subaru Solterra with the option to receive a $400 charging credit on the EVgo public fast charging network. The two companies are already working together in the US since February 2022, when Subaru selected EVgo as its preferred EV charging partner. Now, customers who purchase or lease a new Subaru Solterra, will have the option to select:
- $400 of pre-paid charging credits with EVgo* (it must be utilized within two years)
- or a home charger installation credit
According to the press release, Solterra customers will receive an email to redeem their credit of choice for their Subaru Solterra. Here are details how the promotion works:
*Receive $400 charging credit on the EVgo network with the purchase or lease of a new model year 2023 Subaru Solterra. The $400 complimentary credit will be applied to EVgo per-minute or per-kwh (in select regions) prepaid rates (plus applicable taxes and fees) on EVgo chargers only. Charging rates will vary by region and can be found at evgo.com/pricing. All rates are subject to change. Rates and fees will vary on non-EVgo chargers accessible through the EVgo app. Please see walk-up rates at non-EVgo chargers through the EVgo app prior to initiating a charging session. At the expiration of the offer (two years from date of purchase/lease), customer will roll over to a Pay As You Go Plan. Customers are responsible for any and all charging costs beyond the credit.
$400 is a nice bonus for new EV drivers. Another interesting thing is that Subaru EVgo account holders will have an opportunity to enjoy a seamless charging experience with Autocharge+. It means that the charging session should start automatically, after plugging in their Subaru Solterra at an EVgo fast charging station (no extra steps needed for authorization or payment). EVgo, founded in 2010, is one of the largest electric vehicle charging network in the US, with over 850 DC fast charging locations in over 60 metropolitan areas in more than 30 states. It has also more than 1,200 AC Level 2 charging stalls and offers access to more than 46,000 public charging points (AC or DC) through roaming agreements with other charging providers.
Robert Brennan, Electric Vehicle Sales Strategy Manager at Subaru said:
“With the upcoming deliveries of the Solterra, we wanted to help provide a seamless ownership experience for drivers, and we knew that EVgo provided a strong platform for our customers. Our collaboration with EVgo to offer a $400 EVgo charging credit gives our drivers more confidence in their transition to electric and the ability to choose the charging option that best fits their lifestyle.”
