In a matter of a few days, Toyota has announced three electric cars — the 2026 Toyota bZ (an upgraded Toyota bZ4X), the all-new Toyota C-HR compact crossover, and finally, the all-new Toyota bZ Woodland midsize SUV. The Toyota bZ Woodland is essentially a direct cousin of the previously unveiled Subaru Trailseeker. It seems that in Europe and Japan, it will be called the bZ4X Touring.
The Toyota bZ Woodland is slightly larger than the Toyota bZ (nearly 6 inches longer and just under 1 inch taller). It has an 8.3-inch ground clearance, and thanks to a dual-motor, all-wheel drive powertrain (280 kW) with a special X-MODE, it is ready for off-roading as well as for towing up to 3,500 pounds.
The US launch of the 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland is expected in early 2026. There is no pricing yet.

260 Miles of Range
The manufacturer estimates that the Toyota bZ Woodland will have a driving range of up to 260 miles. There will be only one, well-equipped trim with 18-inch wheels.
The battery capacity of 74.7 kWh is the same as in the Subaru Trailseeker and the other two Toyota models (bZ and C-HR).
NACS Charging Inlet
Just like all the other new Toyota EVs in North America, the bZ Woodland is equipped with a NACS (SAE J3400) charging inlet. The charging port is located in the front-right (passenger side). We are not sure whether this will be convenient on a daily basis, especially in a tight garage when one parks close to the wall on the passenger side.
Toyota says that 10-80% state-of-charge charging under ideal conditions will take around 30 minutes. The peak charging power is expected to be around 150 kW.
The manufacturer also mentions a battery pre-conditioning function ahead of DC fast charging, Plug & Charge capability, and an 11-kW onboard charger — all the same as in the bZ and C-HR.
Exterior and Interior
Toyota will offer only one well-equipped trim of the bZ Woodland. Here is a short description of what to expect:
“A Premium Package with JBL Premium Audio, a fixed glass panoramic roof, digital rearview mirror, ventilated front seats and memory driver seat/side view mirrors, and optional All-Terrain tires will also be available. Exterior paint options also capture its outdoor spirit, with colors that will include the all-new Stepping Stone, along with Halo, Steel, Pavement, Raven Black, and Trueno Blue.”
