Toyota recently accelerated its electrification efforts in North America. Right after presenting the significantly upgraded 2026 Toyota bZ, the company revealed an all-new electric model, the C-HR, which will enter the US market in 2026. Prices are not yet known.
The 2026 Toyota C-HR is a compact crossover utility vehicle. It’s slightly smaller than the Toyota bZ, based on the same Toyota e-TNGA platform. It has an overall length of 177.9 inches, an overall width of 73.6 inches, a wheelbase of 108.3 inches, and an overall height of 63.8 inches.
The battery and powertrain components in the C-HR and bZ are the same. In the US, there will be only a dual-motor, all-wheel drive (AWD) version with a 74.7-kWh battery (at least initially).
290 Miles of Range
The manufacturer-estimated driving range of the 2026 Toyota C-HR is up to 290 miles. As we understand it, this is the expected EPA Combined range for the base SE trim with 18-inch wheels. There is also a higher XSE trim with 20-inch wheels, which might get a marginally lower range.
For reference, the 2026 Toyota bZ AWD with 18-inch wheels (XLE trim) has an expected range of 288 miles.
The 252-kW dual motor powertrain can accelerate the car from 0 to 60 mph in around 5 seconds.
NACS Charging Inlet
The 2026 Toyota C-HR has a NACS (SAE J3400) charging inlet for AC and DC charging scenarios. The charging port is located on the front-right (passenger side), just like in the new 2026 Toyota bZ.
According to Toyota, DC fast charging from 10% to 80% state-of-charge will take around 30 minutes under ideal conditions. Peak charging power will very likely be around 150 kW. The manufacturer confirmed a battery pre-conditioning function ahead of DC fast charging.
The onboard charger has a power output of 11 kW. It should be enough to fully recharge the battery in roughly 7 hours. The car will come with a dual-voltage (120/240 V) charging cable.
Exterior and Interior
The 2026 Toyota C-HR might be an interesting proposition for those who opt more for a coupe-like design. Most of the interior design clues and features are shared with the new bZ model. See more in Toyota’s presentation:
