A new era in convenience has begun, as Electrify America opens its first indoor flagship charging station in San Francisco, two blocks from the Bay Bridge.
The deployment of indoor charging sites is possible thanks to zero-emission electric drive, which eliminates the concern of emissions and special ventilation.
Electrify America’s new station at 928 Harrison St. in San Francisco is available 24/7 with round-the-clock monitoring and security. It features 20 hyper-fast chargers providing up to 350 kilowatts (kW) in charging power.
The flagship indoor charging station from one of the US’s largest EV fast-charging networks has two temperature-controlled lounge areas with food and beverage vending options, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, and two restrooms with baby changing stations.
Such a station might quickly become one of the favored charging stops in the area.
Electrify America previously installed two outdoor flagship charging stations in Baker and Santa Clara, California.
The company explains that the new location on Harrison Street is the first one in the network to reflect its strategy to build larger stations.
Overall, Electrify America has over 250 stations in California and more than 900 in North America. In the future, the stations will be equipped with SAE J3400 NACS charging connectors (starting in 2025).
Robert Barrosa, the president and CEO of Electrify America, said:
“We’re committed to making EVs accessible to all, particularly in dense urban areas like San Francisco. Our expertise in building over 250 stations in California and more than 900 in North America uniquely positions us to bring high-quality charging infrastructure directly into communities where people live and work and support EV adoption across the state.”
